After a decade of pushing the boundaries of virtual reality, Pimax is marking its 2026 Frontier presentation with a bold visual transformation that reflects both where we've been and where we're headed.
On the red brick wall of a university building in Rotterdam, there is a quote from Dutch painter Willem de Kooning: "I have to change to stay the same."
It's the best summary we have of what we presented at our 2026 Frontier event, where Pimax introduced a new visual identity alongside three new products. For the full presentation, head to our YouTube channel.
Where the green came from
For nearly a decade, Pimax was green and black. The palette was loud and energetic, and it belonged to gaming culture, sharing a visual language with Razer, Xbox, and Nvidia.
That fit who we were. Pimax started shortly after Oculus's Kickstarter, with the idea that VR could be far more immersive than the industry assumed. The 4K and 8K headsets, the widest field of view in consumer VR, the first glass aspheric lenses in a VR headset, integrated SLAM tracking: all of it came from a team of enthusiasts that didn't accept "this is the limit" as an answer.

The green stood for that period. But it also made us look like several other tech brands, and it tied us to a chapter we have since moved past.
What changed
VR is no longer mainly a gaming product, and neither is Pimax. Our headsets are used in flight simulation training centers, medical visualization labs, architecture studios, and industrial inspection facilities. Our users include professional racing drivers, surgeons, aerospace engineers and researchers, alongside the gamers and enthusiasts who got us here.
The company has changed with it. We have improved customer support, refined our software ecosystem, and strengthened our manufacturing. In high-end PCVR, where many brands have come and gone, we have kept shipping and kept innovating.
That company was shaped by our community: the Kickstarter backers who believed in us early, and the users who spent countless hours on Discord and Reddit testing, discussing and pushing back on our products. The new identity reflects where that work has taken us.
The new logo
The new mark is based on π. It is built from a series of circles, one for every user, developer and partner who joined along the way, that come together into a single shape.
Look again, and it is also a doorway: an entry point between the physical and the virtual world. That is how we see Pimax's role as spatial computing grows. The same arcs and circles run through the rest of the visual system.

Stratosphere Blue
Our new signature color is Stratosphere Blue. The stratosphere is one of the highest layers of Earth's atmosphere, where the sky turns a deeper blue, close to black. Few people have been there.
The color is lighter and more refined than the old green. The wider design language follows suit, with clean lines and forward-looking shapes, closer to the restrained futurism of a film like Oblivion than to RGB gaming gear.
Three products under the new brand

Alongside the refresh, we announced the first new products designed under the new identity.
- Pimax Crystal Pro is our wireless high-end headset, with glass aspheric lenses and around 17 million QLED pixels. It uses a new technology we call Native Foveated Streaming: eye tracking and AirLink, our WiGig-and-WiFi wireless system, send an uncompressed image to wherever you are looking, adding under 2 milliseconds of latency.
- Pimax Spation is a mini PC built around a real desktop CPU and GPU, running Windows or SteamOS, designed to get people into VR with minimal setup. It comes in standard configurations or as a DIY version for those who want to bring their own motherboard and GPU. Pimax Play is coming to Linux as well.
- Pimax Ringless VR Controllers deliver full 6DOF tracking for PCVR without a tracking ring, with hand tracking taking over the ring's job. Clip the two together and they become a standard gamepad for Windows and Steam.
Go Boldly to the Uncharted
The color, the products and the people we serve have changed. The mission hasn't: Go Boldly to the Uncharted.
