Closer to the Lenses, Better Pressure Distribution, and a Wider Usable FOV
As an ultra-lightweight headset designed for high-end PCVR users, Dream Air SE combines Micro-OLED, Pancake optics, and eye tracking in a lightweight design weighing less than 140g.
But we believe the VR experience is about more than just display quality and weight.
How a headset fits your face can also affect what you see—and how comfortably you can use it for extended periods.
That’s why we developed the all-new ProFit Facial Interface, specifically designed for Dream Air SE.
It features a redesigned shell and Studioform high-density foam padding, with one key goal:
Bring your eyes closer to the lenses.
This change not only improves wearing comfort, but also allows you to see more of the image that Dream Air SE was already rendering.

1. What Has Changed? A Closer Look at the Old and New Facial Interfaces
The new ProFit Facial Interface is more than simply replacing the foam padding. It has been redesigned across three key areas: materials, structure, and eye-to-lens positioning.
Previous Facial Interface vs. New ProFit Facial Interface
| Key Difference | Previous Version | New ProFit Facial Interface |
| Padding Material | Standard padding | Studioform high-density foam |
| Pressure Distribution | More pressure concentrated around the brow | More weight distributed toward the cheekbones |
| Eye-to-Lens Distance | Relatively farther from the lenses | Eyes positioned closer to the lenses |
| Usable FOV | Standard visible range | Allows you to see more of the rendered image |
| Facial Fit | Original shell design | Redesigned for a closer facial fit |
| Stability | Standard | More stable during movement |
| Light Blocking | Standard | Improved light blocking |
| Padding Replacement | Standard structure | Velcro-mounted, removable and replaceable padding |
Our goal is not to change Dream Air SE’s rendered FOV, but to help you see more of the content that is already being rendered.
2. Closer to the Lenses, More of the Image in View
The new ProFit Facial Interface reduces the distance between your eyes and the lenses.
This brings two direct benefits.
A More Comfortable Viewing Experience
When your eyes are positioned closer to the lenses, you no longer need to view the full image from a relatively farther position.
At the same time, the Studioform high-density foam helps redistribute facial pressure, moving more of the headset’s weight toward the cheekbones instead of concentrating it around the brow area.
Combined with the redesigned shell, the facial interface sits closer to your face while maintaining a stable fit.
This means:
A closer eye position isn't just about FOV—it also provides a more natural and comfortable viewing position.
A Wider Usable FOV
With your eyes positioned closer to the lenses, you can see more of the image that Dream Air SE is already rendering.
But there is an important distinction:
The rendered FOV has not changed.
The image generated by Dream Air SE remains the same as before. The headset’s optical hardware and software have not changed.
What changes is the position of your eyes relative to the lenses.
By positioning your eyes more appropriately, you can see more of the content that was already present in the rendered image, increasing the usable field of view during actual use.
Some users have reported that simply switching to the new ProFit Facial Interface can increase their visible FOV by up to approximately 20°.
For a change that does not modify the display hardware, optical system, or software algorithms, this represents a significant improvement in the overall viewing experience.
A simple way to think about it:
The size of the window hasn’t changed—but when you move closer to the window, you can see more of what’s outside.
3. Why Studioform?
For an ultra-lightweight headset weighing less than 140g, the material used for the facial interface becomes especially important.
The new ProFit Facial Interface uses Studioform high-density foam padding, designed to distribute the headset’s weight more evenly across the face.
Instead of concentrating more pressure around the brow area, the new design distributes more pressure toward the cheekbones.
The Studioform padding also provides improved light blocking, helping reduce ambient light that could otherwise affect immersion.
The Padding Is Replaceable
The foam padding on the new facial interface is attached using Velcro.
This means that when the padding needs to be maintained or replaced, you can simply remove and replace it without replacing the entire facial interface.
For users who spend long periods in VR, this makes maintenance easier while allowing the facial interface to adapt more flexibly to long-term use.
4. A Closer, More Stable Fit
Comfort isn't just about softness.
If the facial interface shifts while you move your head, it can change the relationship between your eyes and the lenses, potentially affecting the viewing experience.
That’s why the new ProFit shell has been redesigned to sit closer to the face and maintain a more stable position during movement.
A closer fit + greater stability + more balanced pressure distribution work together to make the closer eye position practical for everyday use.
Whether you're sim racing, flying in a flight simulator, or enjoying extended immersive VR sessions, this added stability can make a meaningful difference.

5. Easier Access to the USB Type-C Port
We also considered the convenience of accessing the USB Type-C port.
The redesigned facial interface makes the Type-C port easier to access, making it more convenient to connect compatible USB-C audio devices, tracking accessories, and other peripherals.
It may seem like a small detail, but for users who rely on Dream Air SE as a daily PCVR headset, it can make everyday use more convenient.
Dream Air SE vs. Other Ultra-Light Micro-OLED PCVR Headsets
Dream Air SE shares a similar goal with other ultra-light Micro-OLED PCVR headsets: delivering a high-quality visual experience in a lightweight form factor.
Dream Air SE is priced at $899 USD.
By comparison, many ultra-light Micro-OLED PCVR solutions are typically priced at $1,000+ USD.
With a similar Micro-OLED display experience and lightweight design, Dream Air SE offers a more competitive price point.
