The Dream Air SE, Reworked

We shipped the Dream Air SE in May, and the response split pretty cleanly down the middle. The panel, the micro-OLED blacks, the clarity, the performance — reviewers liked all of that. The face mask was another story. A lot of people didn't like it, to put it mildly.
So today we're showing you the fix.

Meet the ProFit Mask

This is a completely reworked facial interface, built with midnight silk foam from Studioform Creative. The shell spreads weight more evenly across your cheekbones and forehead, and it sits closer to your face — which moves your eyes closer to the lenses.
That does two things.

  • First, better comfort over long sessions.
  • Second, a noticeably larger visible field of view.

Let's be precise about that second point, because it matters: the rendered FOV hasn't changed. The headset draws exactly the same image it always did. You're simply positioned to see more of it. Some users have reported up to 20 degrees more visible FOV from the mask swap alone — a pretty remarkable result for something that isn't a hardware or software change to the optics at all.

One more practical fix: the ProFit also opens up the USB-C port on top of the headset, which the original mask was blocking.

The Software side

If you update to Pimax Play 2.0.2 or newer, you're getting a meaningful update alongside the mask:

  • IPD distance now displays correctly
  • The brightness issue is fixed
  • Distortion and color have improved, alongside a broad set of stability and compatibility fixes
  • Factory calibration has been fine-tuned
  • OSC support for VRChat is already integrated, with face tracking actively in development

The offer

Every Dream Air SE purchased in August ships with the ProFit mask included. And we're adding full Return Shipping Assurance at no cost. Fourteen days to try the headset properly. If it's not for you, send it back for a full refund — we cover the shipping, no questions asked.

We think once you've got the ProFit mask on and spent a real session in it, you won't want to send it back. But we'd rather you find that out yourself than take our word for it.
